What is Hadoop?

What is Hadoop?

It is undeniable fact that the computers and internet have made wonders by connecting every human across the globe. Even the business and commerce around the world have become globalized. Those organizations generated huge volumes of data that needs to be processed in different parts of the world. They were in desperate need for a platform which could enable distributed processing of data and information. Highly expensive cloud platforms have evolved in the recent years which only facilitated their need of big business which could afford that software. Hadoop is an open-source (available for free) framework that facilitates distributed processing of huge data volumes.

Significance

Being composed of excellent features, capabilities and available for free in the market, Hadoop have gained enormous significance in the field of Big Data technology. One of the key highlighted features of Hadoop is that it is built using cost-effective commodity hardware products. Thereby the construction cost of Hadoop distributed processing system is very less when compared to other competing systems. Hadoop is capable of scaling one server to thousands of servers. The extremely high degree of fault tolerance is another mind-blowing advantage of using Hadoop Distributed Processing System.

HDFS (Hadoop Distributed File System)
Hadoop used this unique fault tolerant file system to enhance the overall system. This HDFS is a n another successful project of Apache Software Foundation. HDFS effectively organizes and runs on less expensive commodity hardware. The data stored in HDFS file system can be compressed and decompressed using various compression algorithms such as Gzip, LZO, and Bzip2 etc. It also supports extraction and transformation of data using Hive, MapReduce and Pig etc.

Maintenance and Debugging
The maintenance of the Hadoop System is equally important to the installation of the Hadoop System. Hadoop is enabled with lot of flexible options to control, monitor and maintain the system. There are three different modes to maintain the system. They are Pseudo-distributed mode, fully-distributed mode and standalone mode. When working with huge volumes of data, Unexpected or wrong input is very common. But malformed data could prove very dangerous and might stop the system from processing the right way.

Training on Hadoop System!

Career in Hadoop technology is simply a promising and challenging career. If you are keeping your options open to start a career in latest technology, Hadoop would be the best option among the newly evolved technologies. With excellent significance and career prospects, Hadoop has several designations to choose from. Accomplishing a Hadoop training course would be the first step towards creating a career in Hadoop. There were several staffing companies engaged in providing free training on Hadoop to candidates and employ them in their client companies.
